Start with the market you can actually reach
Place Richelme’s food market runs daily. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the market activity spreads across more central squares. Aim for the morning; the published general market hours are 8am to 1pm.
Buy enough for a small lunch or picnic, then give the old streets time. A morning of markets and a long café stop can be a complete half-day without another booking.
Choose one Cézanne site and leave time to get there
The official Cézanne sites page lists the Atelier des Lauves and Jas de Bouffan season as 4 July to 31 October 2026. Reservations are required, and the atelier has limited capacity. Pick the site that matches your interest before arranging the bus, walk or taxi.
For a free outdoor alternative, the same official guide lists the Jardin des Peintres with views towards Sainte-Victoire. Use it when you want a landscape stop rather than another interior. Keep hot-weather walking to the part of the day that suits your group, with water and time for the return.

Place Richelme has a daily food market; the larger market spread on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays adds the Places Comtales area. Go in the morning, with the tourism office listing market hours around 8am to 1pm.
Worth Paying For
Book the Atelier des Lauves if you want to see Cézanne’s final working place. Choose the date first and build the rest of the day around the visit rather than booking several distant sites close together.
