Wrocław suits a few days of squares, river islands and one or two chosen museums. Start around the Rynek, cross towards Ostrów Tumski, and leave the Centennial Hall area for a separate outing.

Put the river into your first day
Start in the Rynek and wander through the nearby streets, then head towards the river islands and Ostrów Tumski. Look for the small dwarf sculptures as you go. You do not need to find a set number for the walk to feel complete.
Two days give you a central walk and one museum or eastern-city outing. With a third day, leave more time for cafés, parks or an exhibition. The Centennial Hall area is a separate trip from the Old Town, so group nearby visits instead of crossing the city repeatedly.
Choose a room that works on arrival
The main railway station and bus station are useful transport anchors, but check the actual walking route to your room. If you arrive late or have heavy luggage, a tram connection may matter more than saving a little on the nightly rate. Around busy central streets, ask whether the bedroom faces the road or a courtyard.
Use the airport bus when its route suits you
The airport lists daytime bus 106 to Dworzec Główny (Dworcowa), with a journey of about 40–50 minutes depending on traffic. Night bus 206 is another service to check for a late arrival. Bus 129 goes in a different direction, so do not board solely because it says city bus.
The city tariff lists a regular single ticket at 4.60 PLN, 60 minutes at 5.20 PLN and 24 hours at 15 PLN. Compare your actual journeys before choosing the day ticket. For an electronic on-board purchase, follow the machine's instructions and keep the card or device used for payment available.
Make the Panorama ticket work for your interests
The Racławice Panorama uses timed admission. Its ticket also covers permanent exhibitions at the National Museum, Ethnographic Museum and Four Domes Pavilion for three months under the published conditions. That can be useful if those collections interest you; it is not a reason to rush through them all in one afternoon.
Choose your time before building the rest of the day. Keep a riverside walk as the flexible part, and move it if the weather turns.
Leave a simple evening after travel
A central meal and a short walk are enough after the journey from Kraków or Warsaw. Keep the first evening free of a non-refundable attraction booking. Add those intercity tickets separately to the daily spending example, which covers a different set of costs.
Where to Stay
Choose the Old Town edge for central walks or a room with a direct tram to your arrival station. Check noise around nightlife streets and the full apartment cleaning charge.
Getting Around
Walk the centre and use trams for longer journeys. A regular single ticket is 4.60 PLN; a 24-hour ticket is 15 PLN. Keep the same payment card or device available for inspection if you buy on board.
Eating for Less
Look for a lunch menu near the day's sights, then compare the complete meal with a market or bakery stop. Buying every meal on the Rynek is a choice, not a requirement.
Worth Paying For
Book the Racławice Panorama if the painting interests you. Its ticket also gives access to specified permanent museum collections for three months, so check that benefit before paying twice.
Skip / Save Your Money
Make dwarf-spotting part of your walk instead of a checklist. River paths and the cathedral district provide a good outing without stacking paid attractions.
Common Tourist Traps & Money Mistakes
Do not add an airport taxi automatically. Bus 106 links the airport with the main station area; allow roughly 40–50 minutes plus waiting time.
