Check a city pass before buying
A pass is useful when its included visits fit your plans. Build a realistic day first, then compare the pass with buying those same tickets separately.
List only the visits you want
Use the ticket price you would actually pay, including any age or family discount. Leave out attractions you would add only to make the pass look worthwhile. Allow for travel, queues and time inside each place.
Check the booking rules
Admission included in a pass does not necessarily mean every time slot is available. Read whether you must reserve, whether a reservation costs extra and how cancellations work. Check special exhibitions, guided tours and popular viewpoints separately.
Read the validity carefully
Find out when the clock starts and whether the pass counts calendar days or a fixed number of hours. Check repeat-entry rules. If public transport is included, confirm the zones, airport coverage and any separate ticket you must activate.
Make a fair comparison
Add the separate tickets for your chosen plan, then compare that total with the pass and required extras. If the saving is small, keeping the flexibility to skip a visit may suit you better. Recheck your highest-priority booking before paying for the pass.
