Use the Tukums-direction train and choose the stop for your part of Jūrmala. Majori takes about 30 minutes and is a useful first arrival for Jomas Street and the beach.

Search for the resort station
Jūrmala has several stations along the same coastal railway. Majori suits the central promenade; a room in Dzintari, Bulduri or another district may be closer to a different stop. Read the stop list instead of treating the city name as one arrival point.
Use the published fare as a starting point
The tourist office lists Riga–Majori at €2.30 one way. Confirm the fare for your date and stop in Vivi, including any baggage product you need. Other stations have different prices, and a Riga city-bus ticket alone does not cover the train.
Make the day manageable
Keep Majori and the beach as one outing. Ķemeri lies farther along the line, and its park or wetland trailheads need their own approach and return plan. Do not add a distant boardwalk simply because it is also in Jūrmala.
If arriving from the airport or driving
From RIX, bus 22 followed by a train requires travel into Riga and a connection. Compare that complete journey with a taxi quote to your address. The €5 vehicle permit applies to entry into the marked special zone; it is not a separate charge for each train passenger.
