Buying Colosseum and Roman Forum tickets
Choose the areas you want to see before booking, then leave enough time for security and the walk between the entrances.
A Colosseum ticket is easier to choose once you know what you want to visit. The ordinary route, arena floor and underground areas are different products. Paying more only makes sense if the extra access interests you and fits the time you have.
Start from the archaeological park's official booking information. It links to the authorised ticket portal and explains the current opening hours. A search result with “official” in its title is not enough to identify the seller.
Match the ticket to your day
The ordinary Colosseum, Forum and Palatine ticket was listed at €18 for a full-price adult on 8 September 2026. It allows one Colosseum admission, with a 75-minute visit limit, and one entrance to the Forum-Palatine area within the stated window around your Colosseum booking. Read the included sites before adding a separate experience.
The park states that timed Colosseum sales open 30 days ahead. Use the selected product's calendar rather than assuming every special tour appears at one universal release time. Enter each visitor's name carefully and carry the identification requested at entry.
Leave room between the two visits
Treat the Colosseum booking as the fixed point. Allow time to reach the correct entrance, pass security and find your group if you have booked a guide. A timed ticket does not remove security checks.
The Forum and Palatine cover a large outdoor area with uneven surfaces and climbs. Choose a few places to linger instead of trying to tick off every ruin. Bring water and sun protection, and plan a proper break outside your sightseeing hours.
Check closing time before placing the Forum after a late Colosseum slot. A ticket's validity window does not keep the gates open longer.
If you also want the Vatican Museums, put them on another day where possible. The Vatican Museums guide explains their separate booking system and why a packed schedule can become tiring.
The Rome guide helps keep the Forum, Palatine and your evening meal within a manageable day.
