Book the gate and the walking day together
Find a workable outward and return or onward journey first. Then use the official ticket shop to choose the entrance and an available slot with time after your bus arrival. Entrance 1 and Entrance 2 are not interchangeable bus stops. Save the ticket and the return details on your phone before leaving your accommodation.
The park's marked programmes vary in length and use of boats or panoramic vehicles. Read the current access information and choose a route that suits the whole group. Wet boardwalks, stairs and queues can make a short distance take longer than expected. Plan your park visit.

What the seasonal price changes
Adult standard admission is €10 in January to March and November to December, €23 in April, May and October, and €40 from June to September. The summer late-entry ticket costs €25, after 16:00 in June to August and after 15:00 in September. Included park boats and panoramic vehicles still follow their operating times. Official price list.
A lower entrance price does not guarantee that every trail is open. For a first visit with plenty of walking, an earlier slot is usually more useful than trying to fit a full-day programme into the last few hours.
Plan lunch and the way out
Carry enough food and water for your chosen walk; stopping for lunch should not depend on reaching one particular café before it closes. For a meal outside the walking route, Lička kuća is beside Entrance 1. Allow time to eat and get back to the correct coach stop.
Coming from Zagreb or Zadar, compare both legs before choosing the park slot. If you are continuing along the coast, leave a generous gap after the walk for luggage collection and the bus. Swimming is not part of a Plitvice visit; stay on the marked routes around the lakes.

Ways to save: Children under seven enter free. Other reduced and late-entry tickets have specific conditions. The ticket includes park boats and panoramic vehicles while they operate.

Choose a room by its actual route to Entrance 1 or Entrance 2. Mukinje can work for Entrance 2; more distant village rooms may need a car or an arranged transfer. Ask about breakfast time and transport before booking an early entry slot. A short map distance does not guarantee a safe roadside walk.
Getting Around
Use the official walking programmes and the park transport included in your ticket. Boats and panoramic vehicles reduce some walking but do not make every trail accessible. Match your return to the entrance and bus stop you need, and follow closures on the day.
Eating for Less
Bring water and a packed lunch if you want to keep the walking day simple. Lička kuća at Entrance 1 is an option for a sit-down regional meal, with dishes such as local cheese, trout or lamb. Check its menu and your return-bus time before stopping.
Worth Paying For
A full-day park visit when you want time for the lakes and viewpoints. An overnight may be better value than a rushed day tour, especially when onward buses fit the next day.
Skip / Save Your Money
A second major outing on your park day. Keep the schedule focused on the lakes and leave enough time for the walk back to your departure point.
Common Tourist Traps & Money Mistakes
A cheap late-entry ticket is useful only when the remaining opening time fits your walking plan. A ticket for one entrance does not mean you can arrive at the other gate whenever you like. Use the official shop and read the entry conditions.
