Pärnu Travel Guide
Pärnu is a good place to slow a trip down. Stay for the beach and parks in warm weather, or plan a shorter break around a walk and a chosen spa or museum when the coast is quieter.

Choose between the centre and the beach
Pärnu's main beach is about a 15-minute walk from the centre. Staying near the coach station makes arrivals straightforward and leaves you close to shops and cafés. Staying nearer the sea is useful if you want to return to your room between walks or swims.
For two nights, keep the first afternoon simple: drop your bags, walk through Beach Park and continue to the promenade. On the next day, choose a longer coastal walk or a spa visit. A beach weekend does not need a packed sightseeing timetable.
Plan an outdoor day around the weather
The official Pärnu guide describes the coastal-meadow boardwalk, beach and river walks. The boardwalk gives you a different view from the promenade, but it is exposed to the weather. Wear shoes that suit wet surfaces and keep to the marked route.
Treat swimming as a separate decision on the day. A sunny photograph does not tell you the water temperature or conditions during your visit. In colder months, bring a warm layer for the waterfront and leave a café or indoor visit as the next stop.
Compare the complete spa visit
Read what the room or day ticket includes. Access to a pool, a sauna area and an individual treatment can be sold separately. Check the available hours, whether children can use the selected area, and any towel or locker charge. Choose the facilities you will use rather than the largest package.
A kitchen can be useful for breakfast or a simple evening meal. Compare the total accommodation bill over your actual nights, including cleaning, before deciding that self-catering is cheaper.
Arrive by coach with the right departure point
Use the Tallinn–Pärnu route for a journey of roughly two hours from the capital. Visit Pärnu also lists selected coaches from Tallinn's ferry Terminal D. These are specific departures, so check the stop on your ticket rather than going there for any Tallinn coach.
For an island extension, Kuressaare can be reached by coach via the ferry. Allow a separate travel block and check the through ticket. Returning to Tallinn first is not always necessary, but a convenient connection depends on the date.
Example spending plans
Use these room and meal budgets to plan a day. They are spending choices, not average prices or available room offers. Replace the room amount with your full booking price, including tax. If sharing, divide only the private-room cost. Airport and intercity travel are extra.
A bed, simple meals, local travel and an activity allowance.
A private room, meals, local travel and an activity allowance.
More room for accommodation, meals and paid sightseeing.
Example for one traveller using one individual bed. Chosen allowances, not measured averages or available offers. Replace the room and visits with your bookings. Add intercity and airport travel separately; replace the attraction allowance with selected admission rather than counting it twice. An individual bed or dorm is not guaranteed on your dates; use the whole room price if needed. Add chosen spa treatments, island travel or car hire separately. Replace the stay allowance with your actual seasonal quote.

€0.00🛏️ Where to Stay
Choose the centre for the coach station and everyday food options, or the beach area for short walks to the sea. Check whether a spa hotel includes pool access in the room price.
🚇 Getting Around
The centre, beach park and main beach make a manageable walking area. Use the city planner for accommodation farther out; the coach station is in the centre.
🥖 Eating for Less
Compare central cafés with beach menus before deciding where to eat. An apartment kitchen can help on a longer stay, provided cleaning and other required fees do not cancel the saving.
Worth Paying For
A spa visit can make sense on a cold day. Compare the exact pool or sauna access period, child rules and towel charges before paying.
Skip / Save Your Money
The promenade, parks and coastal-meadow walk can fill a relaxed outdoor day. You do not need to buy a beach service to enjoy a walk by the sea.
Common Tourist Traps & Money Mistakes
Do not book a summer-style beach holiday solely because the room is cheaper outside summer. Check opening days and choose an indoor option you actually want.
