Start the card when your visits begin
The Nürnberg Card costs €38 for adults and gives 48 hours of included attractions and local transport in Zone A. That transport area covers Nuremberg, Fürth and Stein; it does not turn the card into a long-distance rail pass.
The card FAQ says you choose the start date and time when buying, and cannot change them afterwards. If you arrive late, start it with the first useful morning visit. Also avoid building the value calculation around museums that close on Monday.
A small meal between the old streets
Drei im Weggla means three small Nuremberg sausages in a roll. It is a straightforward local snack when you want to keep walking rather than sit down for a larger plate and sides.
Give the castle side of the old town enough time, and place a more distant history visit in a separate block. You can enjoy a short stop with food and walking, then return for a longer museum stay without trying to justify a 48-hour card in one afternoon.
Where to Stay
Look between Hauptbahnhof and the old town for a first visit on foot. Staying just outside the walls can still work well with a clear walk to the centre. Ask about stairs in older properties if you are travelling with heavy luggage.
Getting Around
The Nürnberg Card includes local transport in Zone A for Nuremberg, Fürth and Stein. It is useful for a visit with several included attractions, but it is not a train pass for a trip to Munich or another region.
Eating for Less
For a small local meal, order drei im Weggla: three small grilled Nuremberg sausages in a roll. It is a quicker purchase than a full sausage plate with sides. Choose mustard if you want it, and use the menu to compare the whole meal.
Worth Paying For
The adult Nürnberg Card costs €38 and combines included museums and attractions with Zone A transport for 48 hours. It makes more sense for two busy visiting days than for an afternoon of old-town walking.

A walk through the old town can be the main visit on a short stop. Save a broad museum card for a stay when you can use it, and buy a single attraction ticket if that is all the time you have.
