Give the centre and Heraclea separate time
Širok Sokak, the old bazaar and the streets around the clock tower form an easy first walk. Sit down for part of it rather than using the pedestrian street only as a path between landmarks. Heraclea is outside this central loop, so check current access and allow for the journey there and back.
Bitola is a useful overnight between Skopje and Ohrid when the transport fits. It is less convincing as a rushed same-day detour with luggage. A central room keeps the evening simple, while a station-side room may save time before an early departure. Map both the bus and railway stations because they are not interchangeable.
Decide whether Pelister belongs in this visit
Pelister is a mountain day, not an extension of a city walk. Use Pelister National Park for current information and choose a route that matches weather, daylight, footwear and experience. Confirm how you will reach the start and return; a cheap room in Bitola does not include mountain transport.
If conditions are unsuitable, use the day for Heraclea, local museums and a slower centre visit. This gives the itinerary a real fallback instead of losing a day to an unsafe or uncomfortable outing.
