Oradea suits a city break built around its central buildings, river walks and a few interiors. The City Hall Tower has reopened, giving you a useful viewpoint without planning a whole day around it.

Start with the central streets
Use Piața Unirii as a starting point, then link the nearby buildings and river rather than rushing through a long list of interiors. The Black Eagle passage is worth including in that walk. Leave time to notice the façades and stop for a meal along the way.
If architecture is your main interest, choose one or two buildings you can enter and check their separate opening arrangements. A central walk does not require a pass simply because several paid sites are nearby.
Add the reopened tower
The City Hall Tower reopened on 18 July 2026 after work on the main building progressed. The city lists visiting hours of 10:00-18:00 from Tuesday to Sunday. Adult admission is 15 RON, with a 10 RON category for pupils, students, pensioners and groups of more than ten.
Choose a clear part of the day for the view. The tower has several levels, so consider the stairs before buying a ticket for someone with limited mobility. Check the ticket desk's last-admission arrangements rather than arriving at closing time.
Use an hour ticket for the longer gaps
OTL's 4 RON city ticket gives an hour from validation and allows changes between city buses and trams. Purchase options include onboard card terminals and the 24Pay app. Keep the device or ticket used for payment available for inspection.
A room farther from the centre can still be convenient if the line works for your arrival and evening plans. Check where the train or coach actually stops. For Cluj-Napoca journeys, check the dated service for changes or replacement buses before comparing it with a direct coach.
Make a separate plan for a thermal visit
If you add a pool or spa outing, compare the session length, lockers, towels and journey before booking. A city transport ticket does not automatically cover every destination outside Oradea, and a room promotion may apply only to participating properties.
Keep the central stay budget separate from that outing. Enter the full room quote in the calculator, then add the actual admissions you choose. On a wet day, use an open interior and a relaxed meal rather than a viewpoint with poor visibility.
