Use Trabzon as a transport base with realistic day trips
The central square, waterfront-facing streets and local museums can fill an arrival day. The better-known mountain and monastery outings are outside the city and can involve long, winding road journeys. Choose one according to weather and access rather than trying to combine several distant places.
A central room helps with meals and agencies. An airport-side room can suit a short stop but may be less convenient for the centre. Check the pickup point for any excursion; “hotel pickup” may cover only selected districts.
Treat highland weather as a route decision
Cloud, rain, snow or road works can remove the view that motivated an outing. Ask the operator about the actual route, stops, vehicle, return and cancellation terms. Carry suitable clothing even when the coast feels mild. If conditions are poor, keep a city museum, market or food-focused day as the alternative.
Confirm airport and coach connections separately
