Book the Chania sailing, not another Crete port
Blue Star’s port map identifies the Chania service from Piraeus. Check the vessel, date and gate on the booking. Use roughly 8–10 hours for initial overnight planning; intermediate calls and the selected sailing affect the exact time.
Make the overnight price comparable
A deck or lounge place, reserved seat and cabin are different products. If you want a bed, compare that fare with the flight and accommodation combination you would otherwise use. Do not automatically subtract a hotel night without checking both the cabin cost and the room arrangements after arrival.
Continue from Souda to Chania
Souda is the ferry port; the old Venetian harbour is not the arrival point for this crossing. Arrange a local bus or transfer to your room and confirm luggage storage if you arrive before check-in. Chania Airport is CHQ and requires a different journey. If the ferry date does not suit your trip, compare an ATH–CHQ flight with its full baggage and transfer costs.
