Start at București Nord, reached separately from your accommodation or airport. Softrans lists a morning journey of about 2 hours 33 minutes and a longer evening service. CFR has other departures. Use the booked train’s time when arranging arrival, rather than treating every service as a two-hour ride.
Buy from the operator you will use
Softrans’s fare table lists 41.50 RON for the adult RegioExpress journey, including the seat tariff. Its ticket does not cover a CFR train. Compare CFR separately if its timing fits better. Keep the train number and ticket ready before boarding.
Give Brașov a relaxed first afternoon
Brașov station is away from Council Square. Check a RATBV bus to the old town or take a licensed taxi with the fare understood. A 5 RON urban ticket covers 90 minutes. Leave bags before sightseeing and put Bran or a mountain outing on another day. If starting straight from a flight, allow a generous connection through București Nord.
