Brașov makes a useful base for an old-town stay and a separate outing into the surrounding area. Keep the Black Church, the streets around Council Square and a longer mountain visit in different blocks of time.

Give the centre a proper day
Council Square and the streets around the Black Church fit together well on foot. Start with the church's actual opening time: it opens at noon on Sunday and Monday, and at 10:00 from Tuesday to Saturday. Ceremonies and concerts can interrupt sightseeing access.
The adult sightseeing ticket is 30 RON. If listening to the organ is your main reason to visit, look at the concert programme separately. A concert ticket does not mean you can arrive whenever you like for a museum-style visit.
Sort out the station journey
The railway station and the old town are separate parts of the city. Check a RATBV journey to your accommodation before arrival, especially if you have bags. A room near the station may reduce the walk on travel days, while an old-town room can make evenings simpler.
The urban ticket is 5 RON for 90 minutes and covers the urban lines, including Poiana Brașov. The urban day pass costs 20 RON and is valid on the day it is issued. Count the ticket periods you will need before buying a pass. Râșnov is outside this fare: the listed Brașov-Râșnov ticket is 7 RON for 90 minutes on the relevant lines and urban connections.
Choose one longer outing
For Peleș, use the Sinaia guide and arrange the castle slot before the train. Do not put an early timed visit immediately after an arrival from another city. Bran, Râșnov and a mountain outing also need their own transport and opening checks; they are not extra stops to squeeze into an already full afternoon.
For Tâmpa, choose a plan that suits the weather, daylight and everyone in your group. A hill walk is a different commitment from a walk around the centre. Keep an indoor alternative and do not rely on a cable car to rescue a late start.
Keep evenings simple
Look at several menus before choosing dinner, including streets away from the square. On a wet afternoon, the church and a relaxed meal make a better pairing than an excursion chosen only because it was on the original list. Leave the last morning for the centre if an onward train makes a distant trip awkward.

RON 30.00Booking and rates: Check the daily sightseeing hours and last entry, 20 minutes before closing. Worship and concerts can interrupt visits. An organ concert uses its own ticket.

Getting Around
RATBV's urban ticket costs 5 RON for 90 minutes and includes Poiana Brașov. The 20 RON urban day pass is valid on its day of issue. Râșnov uses a different fare.

Check which part of a castle or fortress is open before paying for a day trip. An exterior stop, a full interior visit and transport-only arrangements are different purchases.
