Travel from Faro city
Regional rail runs west through the Algarve towards Lagos. Plan roughly 1½–2 hours for a suitable departure and check the current CP timetable. The reviewed weekday Vamus line 57 timetable takes about 2½ hours from Faro bus terminal to Lagos bus terminal. Check your travel day and exact stops; airport services may use a different journey.
Start at the airport only if that is your origin
The airport transport page lists the city buses and separate Vamus airport service towards Lagos. There is no airport railway station. Compare the wait for a direct airport coach with going into Faro for the train.
Allow the final Lagos approach
Lagos railway station is on the marina side; the coach terminal is another arrival point. Check the walk or local transfer to your room, especially if staying beyond the old centre near a beach. The main journey price does not include every final taxi or local ride.
