Match the ticket to your station
Check whether the departure you choose calls at West if that is closer to your room. A valley train into Interlaken and the onward Bern train are separate legs, so include both in a single journey search.
Keep a stopover manageable
Bern’s station is close to the old town, but a useful visit still needs time to store luggage and return. If you have another fixed train, choose a short centre walk rather than an ambitious museum and river loop.
