Choose the mountain stop before the ticket
EMEL route 64 runs from Limassol towards Platres and Troodos Square. These are different starting points for a mountain day. Check the current stop list and departure from the Old Port or EMEL Leontiou area, then choose the arrival that fits your walk.
The distance shown here is an approximate straight line between the retained city-centre coordinates. The road journey is longer and follows mountain roads. Use the operator's dated timetable for the whole ride and return, rather than treating the distance as a drive-time estimate.
A bus ride does not deliver you to every trailhead
Kalidonia is a three-kilometre linear trail with a difficult grade, not a short circular stroll from Troodos Square. Its lower end is near Psilodentro above Platres. Plan how you reach the start and what happens at the finish; walking back along a road is not automatically a suitable return route.
For a lighter outing, choose a shorter signed trail whose approach and grade suit your group. Read the Troodos guide and the official hiking map before setting off. Bring water, suitable shoes and the route offline. Check fire, weather and trail notices, and leave time to turn back.
Keep the return bus central to the day
EMEL's ordinary daytime adult cash single is €2, so two such rides would cost €4. Confirm the selected service and ticket conditions, especially if using a pass. A private excursion or taxi is a separate product with its own price.
Save the return stop and departure before you begin walking. Keep enough time for the path back to the stop, not just the trail's published walking duration. If the timetable leaves too little daylight for your chosen walk, shorten the route or choose another day.
A night in Platres or another mountain village can add flexibility, but check transport to that actual address. A room described as being in Troodos may be well away from the square and this bus route.
