Choosing your journey
The fast train takes about half an hour, but arrives outside Segovia’s old town. Compare it with the coach from Moncloa using the whole journey to the aqueduct.

Choose the correct railway station
High-speed services leave Madrid Chamartín and call at Segovia-Guiomar. Allow roughly 25–40 minutes on a suitable train. Guiomar is outside the centre, so add the local bus or taxi rather than treating the railway arrival as the start of your aqueduct walk.
Compare Moncloa’s coach
Avanza’s Segovia service uses Madrid Moncloa. A direct coach takes roughly 1–1½ hours depending on traffic and the departure, with a more central arrival in Segovia. Your starting point in Madrid can make this a convenient option despite the longer main ride.
Give the city a full visit
Choose a return that leaves time for a walk through the old centre and one main interior. The palace and tower at the Alcázar are different ticket options. If returning by train, save the connection back to Guiomar and leave a margin before boarding closes.
