Take a regional service
Allow roughly 10–15 minutes between Malmö C and Lund C on a suitable Öresundståg or Pågatåg. Buy the Skånetrafiken ticket for the full journey before boarding and check the stopping pattern.
Decide on the return
A return day trip saves another check-in. Compare the ticket choices for the journeys you will actually take, including any local buses. A Malmö small-zone ticket alone does not cover the rail trip to Lund.
Walk from Lund C
The old centre is close to the station. Keep Kulturen for its opening hours and leave time for lunch. If continuing north, check whether the onward train calls at Lund so you can avoid doubling back.
