Check the actual through departure
Only trains continuing beyond Sigulda serve this leg. Vivi’s shared timetable includes international and local services, so do not use the frequency of Riga–Sigulda trains as the frequency to Cēsis.
Allow time around check-out
Finish the Sigulda stay without a tight castle booking immediately before the train. Collect your bags, reach the platform and leave enough time to find your next room in Cēsis. The short rail journey does not include either hotel walk.
Use Cēsis as another base
A castle and Old Town afternoon fits more comfortably than adding several national-park stops on arrival. If your room is outside town, arrange its final transfer before choosing the train.
Keep ticket coverage clear
Buy the Sigulda–Cēsis ticket for the train you intend to use. Do not assume a product valid only as far as Sigulda includes this continuation. Check current disruption notices and keep a later departure in mind if plans change.
