Choose a Lofoten village before searching
Lofoten is an island region, not one bus stop. Svolvær, Leknes, Reine and Å lead to different journey times and final transfers. Decide where you will sleep, then search from Tromsø to that address or its useful public-bus stop.
The public transport corridor uses Svipper route 100 towards Narvik and Reis Nordland's route 300 through Lofoten. Check the full dated connection, including the wait and the final local journey. The Narvik–Svolvær section alone is around four hours according to the destination's transport information. Adding Tromsø makes this a full travel day, not a short transfer between neighbouring sights.
Keep the operator tickets clear
Svipper and Reis Nordland are different ticket systems. A local Tromsø day ticket does not cover the entire journey to Lofoten. Check the fare for each section or the complete combination offered by the planner, and confirm luggage arrangements if travelling with large bags or outdoor equipment.
Seasonal tourist buses can offer another approach, but their operating dates and stops differ from the ordinary public network. Do not use a winter Arctic Route departure as proof that the same bus runs all summer. Check the actual service for your date before buying a room around its arrival.
Give the arrival day a modest finish
Pick accommodation you can reach from the final stop, or arrange the last transfer before travelling. A remote cabin can be attractive but may leave you without a practical evening bus. Plan food around when shops and your accommodation's kitchen are available.
For flights, compare the actual airports and connections. Evenes is a mainland gateway with an onward coach journey; Svolvær and Leknes are separate airports within the region. A flight labelled for Lofoten does not necessarily arrive near your chosen village. Keep a mountain walk or boat activity for a later day when you can judge the conditions.
