Do visits to Europe's microstates count as Schengen days?
Check the rules for each microstate before building a long itinerary. A souvenir stamp is not proof of a fresh travel allowance.
A day trip to a tiny country can be a highlight of a European journey. It is a poor basis for extending an immigration allowance. The microstates do not all have the same arrangements, so avoid treating them as interchangeable places to stop the Schengen clock.
The distinctions that matter

The EU membership list identifies formal Schengen members. British visitors can also consult the specific consular guidance for Monaco and San Marino. Those passport-specific pages are not a promise of visa-free travel for every nationality.
Andorra needs a separate check
If your passport requires a Schengen visa, a single-entry visa can be a problem for a journey into Andorra and back. Visit Andorra's entry guidance directs visa-required visitors to arrange the appropriate two-entry or multiple-entry permission through France or Spain.
If you intend to exclude a longer Andorran stay from your Schengen calculation, ask the relevant French or Spanish authority how your exit, stay and return should be documented. Do that before reaching the end of your allowance. A tourism-office stamp does not decide the immigration treatment of your trip.
Plan with dates you can explain
Keep a continuous itinerary, including travel days. Use the 90/180 guide to calculate your position before adding any side trip, and retain tickets and accommodation records.
A small margin is useful when plans change. If the success of your whole itinerary depends on excluding a particular day in a microstate, get an answer from the responsible immigration authority before booking.
