Begin with a municipal pool

Reykjavík lists ordinary adult single entry to its municipal pools at ISK 1,500. That makes a pool such as Vesturbæjarlaug a useful city outing when you want a swim and time in the hot tubs. Bring your own towel and swimsuit, since rental adds to the price.

It should not be described as a discounted version of a spa package; choose it for the experience it actually offers.

Blue Lagoon is a specific paid outing

Blue Lagoon’s current day-visit page lists Comfort admission from ISK 11,990, with more expensive packages and different inclusions. The starting price is not a promise for every date and time. Select the slot and package, then read the actual included items and cancellation terms before paying.

Its location near Grindavík means the visit needs a travel plan. Add the return transfer or driving and check current Reykjanes access instructions. A booking does not override a road closure or official restriction. Avoid arranging the visit so tightly before a flight that a changed road or departure time leaves no room to respond.

If the lagoon is a main reason for your trip, it can be worth choosing deliberately. If you only want an hour in warm water, compare the pool near your room before paying for a package and a separate journey.

Secret Lagoon fits a Golden Circle overnight

Secret Lagoon in Flúðir lists adult admission, age 15 and over, at ISK 4,500. Towel and swimsuit hire are additional. Check the booking slot and current opening calendar rather than arriving at the end of a long sightseeing day and hoping there is space.

It fits naturally with a Golden Circle stay when you have time after the outdoor visits. A room in Selfoss or Laugarvatn still requires a drive to Flúðir, so compare the actual address and onward journey. Do not add the bath if it means rushing through every earlier stop.

Use the current name and package at Mývatn

The former Mývatn Nature Baths now trades as Earth Lagoon Mývatn. Its current website offers different facilities and packages with time-dependent pricing. Old articles may quote a rate or inclusion list that no longer matches what you are booking.

Compare the selected package’s changing facilities, towel and other items. Keep the booking as a separate paid activity during the Mývatn stay, not something automatically included with the lake’s walking sights. Two nights in the region make it easier to choose an afternoon that fits the weather and your other plans.

Compare a complete visit for your party

For two adults using Reykjavík municipal-pool singles, entry totals ISK 3,000 before any hired items. Two Secret Lagoon adult tickets total ISK 9,000 before extras and travel. Two Blue Lagoon Comfort tickets at the advertised starting rate would begin at ISK 23,980, with the actual dated quote potentially higher. These are different products, so use the figures to compare your choices rather than to rank them as interchangeable.

Add transport once for a shared car or taxi, or per person for separate coach tickets as applicable. Check whether your selected package already includes the transfer or towel. If you replace the activity allowance in a daily budget with the actual ticket, do not leave both amounts in the total.

Keep the visit comfortable
