Florence daily costs and Tuscany day-trip extras
Build a Florence budget with current bus and Uffizi prices, then add rail journeys and local transfers for days elsewhere in Tuscany.
Florence can be a walking-focused city break, but major museum visits deserve a proper place in the budget. Decide which ones matter to you before filling the schedule with paid attractions.
A day elsewhere in Tuscany is a separate calculation. Transport to the town and travel from its station are not always the same journey.
What a museum day could cost
This example assumes two adults share a €120 room, with mandatory accommodation charges included. Meal amounts are adjustable allowances, not current menu quotes.

Autolinee Toscane’s August 2026 fare update raised the standard urban capital-city ticket from €1.70 to €2. The ticket lasts 90 minutes in Florence; validate it before travelling.
The Uffizi’s official ticket page lists the regular advance ticket at €29 and the same-day ticket at €25. Availability and entry time matter; saving €4 is not useful if the visit you want is unavailable. Concession and late-afternoon options have their own conditions.
Leave room for free time
The streets around the Duomo, river crossings and neighbourhood walks do not require a museum ticket. You can enjoy the city without buying admission at every stop.
Entry to particular buildings, terraces and gardens is a different matter. Check the exact attraction rather than assuming a famous square’s free access extends to everything around it.
For food, decide where you want a sit-down meal. A simple lunch can leave more money and time for dinner. Check any cover charge and drink prices on the menu before comparing offers.
Add a Tuscany outing carefully
Use Trenitalia to price the train you plan to take. For Siena, allow for the onward route from the station to the historic centre. For a rural winery, establish the final transfer and tasting reservation first.
Do not count a city bus ticket as regional travel or assume one excursion allowance fits Pisa, Siena and a vineyard tour.
