Turkey Modern High-Speed Rail Network

Turkey state railway (TCDD) has built an impressive network of YHT (Yüksek Hızlı Tren) high-speed lines connecting Istanbul, Eskişehir, Ankara, and Konya at speeds up to 250 km/h.

The Flagship Corridor: Istanbul to Ankara

  • Travel Time: 4h 15m to 4h 45m.
  • Frequency: 12 to 14 daily departures.
  • Fares: 430 to 520 TRY (€12.50 to €15.00) in economy; 650 TRY (€19.00) in business.
  • Departure Stations in Istanbul: The train stops at multiple stations: Halkalı (west European side), Bakırköy, Söğütlüçeşme (Kadiköy, Asian side), Bostancı, and Pendik. Boarding at Söğütlüçeşme is easiest if staying near the Bosphorus or Kadiköy.

How to Book: The EYBİS App

YHT train tickets open for sale 15 days prior to departure and sell out quickly on weekend morning and evening services.

  • You will need to enter your passport number and nationality.
  • You receive a digital ticket with a QR code on your smartphone.
