Sarandë is the main southern-coast transport and service base, facing Corfu and close to Ksamil and Butrint. The waterfront is easy to understand, but many rooms climb sharply behind it and summer traffic affects short journeys.

Use Sarandë as a base
Keep one day for the town and waterfront, one for Butrint and Ksamil, and another for a ferry or slower coastal day. The official Sarandë guide explains the city's position opposite Corfu and near Butrint.
Plan Butrint as a real visit
UNESCO describes a site with layers from Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian periods. Allow time for the paths and ruins instead of treating it as a short photo stop between beaches.
Choose the Corfu vessel
Ionian Seaways lists high-speed and conventional crossings with different durations. Add check-in, border control and the Corfu transfer. The clock times are local to each port.

Walk the central waterfront and use a current local bus for Ksamil and Butrint. International ferries leave from the passenger terminal. Check the operator, vessel and local time for the chosen sailing.

Compare menus one or two streets back from the water. Ask whether fish is priced by portion or weight and whether sides are included.
Worth Paying For
Butrint is the major heritage visit near Sarandë. Give it enough time and check the park’s current ticket and access information.
Skip / Save Your Money
Use the promenade and a public beach or viewpoint without adding a separate boat trip to every day.
Common Tourist Traps & Money Mistakes
A taxi quote to Ksamil is not the only option. Confirm the local bus first, but do not rely on an old fare or last departure.
