Canillo and Soldeu Travel Guide
Canillo and Soldeu offer two different bases along Andorra’s eastern valley. Use Canillo for its village and Tibetan Bridge shuttle, or Soldeu for plans around its resort sector. Match your room to the bus stop and activity you will actually use.

Two places along the same valley
This guide covers Canillo village and the valley towards El Tarter and Soldeu. The map marker is in Canillo. The names are useful when choosing a base, but they do not describe one walkable town: match your hotel to its own bus stop and activity entrance.
Stay in Canillo for the village, the Tibetan Bridge shuttle and access to the Canillo gondola when it is operating. Soldeu makes more sense when your plans centre on its resort sector. A place between them may suit a longer stay, but check the final walk with luggage or ski equipment before booking.
Reach Canillo on the national bus
From Andorra la Vella, L4 follows the eastern valley towards Pas de la Casa, serving Canillo and Soldeu along the way. Get off for your actual destination; the route's final name does not mean you need to ride to the border.
L3 also serves this valley, but the current timetable has morning and afternoon blocks, a gap in between and no Sunday service. L4 is the useful starting point when L3 is not running. Follow the capital-to-valley guide and save a return trip before leaving.
From Ordino, use a connection through the national bus network. Our Ordino connection explains the change at Central de FEDA, with the national station as an alternative. The road over Coll d’Ordino is not a reason to assume a through bus exists.
A bridge visit starts in Canillo
The Tibetan Bridge uses a timed entry and an official shuttle. Buy online or at Canillo tourist office, then board the shuttle in Canillo 30 minutes before your bridge slot. You cannot drive up to the bridge entrance or buy a ticket there.
The operator's ticket page lists €17 for the standard individual bridge ticket, including the return shuttle, with a €19 peak-period price from 18 July to 13 September. Choose the price for your date. A combined bridge and Roc del Quer ticket is a different product; the viewpoint-only ticket does not include a shuttle.
Check the approach and crossing conditions with the operator before booking if heights, uneven ground or mobility are a concern. Leave the rest of the morning loose enough to enjoy the visit without chasing another timed entrance.
Match a resort visit to its season
Mon(t) Magic in Canillo is a summer activity park reached through the resort. Grandvalira's published 2026 calendar ended its season on 13 September, while Golf Soldeu has a different closing date. Use the activity calendar for the particular attraction. An open bus route does not mean the lift or park is open.
For winter, check the sector, ski-school meeting point, pass and equipment arrangements together. Leave time to collect equipment before a lesson. For a village afternoon between seasons, walk around Canillo and consider the outside of Sant Joan de Caselles; ask the tourist office about interior access if you want to visit the church.
Food and an unhurried return
Look at restaurant locations as carefully as their menus. For example, Borda de l’Horto is in Ransol, rather than central Canillo or Soldeu. Confirm opening and the return journey before making a rural dinner reservation. This is a location example, not a claim that its menu is the cheapest.
Keep international departure day for the journey back to the national station and your coach. If Canillo is an optional day during a short break, use it instead of another major outing rather than adding it to an already full day.
Example spending plans
Use these room and meal budgets to plan a day. They are spending choices, not average prices or available room offers. Replace the room amount with your full booking price, including tax. If sharing, divide only the private-room cost. Airport and intercity travel are extra.
A bed, simple meals, local travel and an activity allowance.
A private room, meals, local travel and an activity allowance.
More room for accommodation, meals and paid sightseeing.
Chosen allowance for one traveller using one individual bed if available. Replace with actual quotes including mandatory charges; these figures are not measured prices or availability claims. Only a whole-room cost can be shared. Local buses are included once in the transport allowance. International travel, shopping and ski passes, hire and lessons are additional. Replace the visits allowance with the full cost of a selected spa or mountain activity.

Canillo Tibetan Bridge with shuttle
€17.00🛏️ Where to Stay
Choose Canillo for the bridge shuttle or its seasonal gondola, and Soldeu for that resort sector. Ask for the actual walk from the hotel to the stop or ski-school meeting point, including steps and slopes.
🚇 Getting Around
L4 serves Canillo and Soldeu on its way to Pas de la Casa. L3 has additional services but no Sunday operation on the current timetable. The bridge shuttle starts separately in Canillo and requires an attraction ticket.
🥖 Eating for Less
Check restaurant addresses before reserving. A place in Ransol or another village may need a separate journey from your hotel. Compare the complete menu and decide how you will get back after dinner.
Worth Paying For
The Tibetan Bridge if the height and approach suit you. Book the timed ticket with its official shuttle, and reach the Canillo departure before the required boarding time.
Skip / Save Your Money
Choose either a bridge outing, a resort activity or a village visit for a short day. A viewpoint-only ticket does not include the bridge shuttle, so compare the actual inclusions before buying.
Common Tourist Traps & Money Mistakes
Canillo and Soldeu are not one walkable centre. A resort name does not guarantee that its gondola or activity park operates during your stay; summer and winter products have different dates.
