Put the Arena first

Walk to the Arena before building the rest of the day around it. Adult admission is €10; the student ticket is €5 with the required proof. Afterwards, walk through the centre towards the Forum and the Temple of Augustus, then turn towards the market for lunch. These stops fit together better than repeatedly returning to the waterfront. Give the beach its own afternoon

For an Istrian meal, look for pasta such as fuži and read what comes with the sauce. A truffle label does not tell you the size of the portion or whether the dish fits your budget. Getting away from the airport
