Billund Travel Guide
Billund works best when you plan around the attraction you want to visit. LEGO House and LEGOLAND are different places, and each can fill a day. Two nights make a family visit easier than arriving, rushing through a park and leaving again the same evening.

Give each big attraction its own day
LEGO House is an indoor experience in the town centre. LEGOLAND is the theme park. If both are priorities, a two-day plan gives you time to enjoy them and makes more sense than moving between them halfway through one expensive day.
At LEGO House, Experience Zones tickets start at DKK219, with the actual price shown for your visit. Its public square, shop, restaurants and rooftop terraces do not require an Experience Zones ticket. A short visit to those areas is a different plan from a full paid visit.
LEGOLAND advertises dated one-day tickets from DKK349 online, compared with DKK519 at the entrance. Check the selected date and the opening calendar before booking travel. Rides normally finish before the park closes, and weather can affect what operates.
Solve the last bus journey before booking a room
For rail arrivals, Vejle is a useful interchange. Bus 43 runs from Vejle Trafikcenter via Billund Airport to Billund Centret. The printed timetable allows around 40 minutes from Vejle to the centre, including the airport stop.
From Copenhagen, combine the train to Vejle with that bus. From Aarhus, 912X is useful, but its destination is Billund Airport. Check the onward bus to your actual address instead of assuming you have arrived at LEGO House.
If you fly into Billund, make the same distinction. The airport is near the town, but a short flight does not remove the need for the final transfer. Check the return bus against the airline's check-in deadline, especially for an early flight.
Compare a family total
Start with the number of people and nights, then add dated tickets and transport. Some packages may work well, but compare their included admission, breakfast and cancellation conditions with separate bookings. Count cleaning and linen if the accommodation charges them separately.
The simple spending plan is an allowance per traveller, not a promise of a hostel bed in the town centre. If only whole rooms are available for your dates, use the full room price and divide it only between the people sharing it. Children can have different ticket rules; do not multiply one adult day price across the family without checking.
Leave time that costs nothing
Use an arrival afternoon for the public areas at LEGO House and a walk through town. Keep the main ticketed day for when you are rested. If you continue to Ribe, allow for the bus and train changes described in the journey guide rather than adding it after a full park day.
Example spending plans
Use these room and meal budgets to plan a day. They are spending choices, not average prices or available room offers. Replace the room amount with your full booking price, including tax. If sharing, divide only the private-room cost. Airport and intercity travel are extra.
A bed, simple meals, local travel and an activity allowance.
A private room, meals, local travel and an activity allowance.
More room for accommodation, meals and paid sightseeing.
Example for one traveller using one bed. These are chosen allowances, not measured averages or available room offers. Replace the stay with the full booking price and the activity allowance with your chosen tickets. Add intercity travel, airport journeys and excursions separately. Local prices are charged in DKK. If no suitable individual bed is available, use the full room price and the number of people sharing it. Check family ticket and accommodation rules separately.

Compare the town centre for LEGO House with accommodation near LEGOLAND for a park visit. Check the actual walk, breakfast, family occupancy and any included tickets. A room in another town may save money but adds bus journeys.
🚇 Getting Around
Billund has no town-centre railway station. From Vejle, bus 43 runs via the airport to Billund Centret. Aarhus's 912X ends at the airport, so continue to the town or your attraction on a local connection.
Airport transfers
Bus43 towards Billund Centret takes about ten minutes after leaving the airport. Select the stop for your hotel or attraction and check the departure and fare. Use an accepted ticket app or check onboard cash rules; do not assume bank-card payment on this bus.
🥖 Eating for Less
A kitchen or included breakfast can help on a family trip. Compare the whole stay, including linen, cleaning and transport. Keep drinks and a simple meal in the plan rather than assuming every day needs several restaurant stops.
Worth Paying For
LEGO House Experience Zones start at DKK219; LEGOLAND's dated one-day tickets start at DKK349 online. Both prices depend on the product and date. Choose the experience first, then compare tickets or a package.
Skip / Save Your Money
LEGO House's square, shop and rooftop terraces can be visited without an Experience Zones ticket. You can enjoy those public areas without buying a second major attraction day. Avoid paying for two big visits you only have time to rush.
Common Tourist Traps & Money Mistakes
An airport bus, a theme-park hotel and a town-centre address are not interchangeable. Check exactly where a transfer ends. Also read whether a hotel package includes park admission for every guest and on the days you need.
