Central Peja can fill an easy arrival day with the bazaar area, local streets and nearby heritage. Rugova begins outside the centre. Decide whether you want a viewpoint, village, marked walk or longer mountain route, then arrange transport and the return for that exact plan.

The Peja tourism site is a useful starting point for trails and regional places. Check weather, daylight, path conditions and whether a guide is appropriate. Do not treat a general taxi ride into the gorge as a substitute for knowing where the walk starts and how you will leave.

Choose accommodation around the real purpose of the stay
