Choose the cave and meeting point together
Grotten Noord tours meet at Luikerweg 80. Zonneberg is another part of the underground system, with a different arrival point. Pick the tour language and address before arranging the journey there.
These are guided visits through former quarry passages. Zonneberg stays around 11°C, so a light extra layer is useful in summer. Allow time to reach the meeting point before the tour starts; arriving in the centre of Maastricht is not the same as arriving at the cave.
A bakery stop in the Jeker Quarter
De Bisschopsmolen, at Stenenbrug 3, joins a working watermill setting with a bakery. Choose a slice of vlaai if you want a local sweet stop, or bread when you want something more practical for lunch. Its usual weekly closure is Monday.
Our suggested day pairs the Jeker Quarter with one underground visit. Keep the river walk for the way back, with enough time to sit down before your train. A second tour of similar passages can wait for another trip.

Wyck suits an arrival near the railway station with a walk across the river into the centre. The Jeker Quarter suits a stay focused on older streets and the southern side of town. Match the room to your evening plans rather than the attraction list alone.
Getting Around
Walk the central streets as one outing and treat the underground sites as a separate journey. Grotten Noord and Zonneberg use different meeting points. Follow the address on your own ticket, not the first cave marker on the map.
Eating for Less
De Bisschopsmolen at Stenenbrug 3 is a bakery and watermill in the Jeker Quarter. Try a slice of Limburg vlaai or choose bread for a small meal. It is normally closed on Mondays, so do not leave that stop until the last morning without checking the day.

A guided underground tour is a worthwhile choice if you want the story of the quarried passages, rather than only a city walk. Choose the language, site and meeting point first; Grotten Noord tours use Luikerweg 80.
