Choose between a day trip and an overnight stay
Start with the Grand Mosque, Koza Han and the covered markets if the historic centre is your priority. A ferry day trip from Istanbul needs transfers at both ends. Choose the return before leaving; stay overnight when you want time for the central streets without watching the return clock.
A central room makes a walking visit simpler. Çekirge suits a stay built around thermal facilities, but check the journey back to the centre. Ask which baths, treatments and meals a hotel package includes before comparing it with an ordinary room.
Use the current Istanbul pier
BUDO's official travel information says its former Eminönü/Sirkeci pier closed and services moved to Kabataş Transfer Center on 1 January 2026. Use the pier on your selected ticket rather than an old map pin. BUDO carries passengers, and its Mudanya arrival still needs a road transfer to Bursa.
BUDO does not supply a shuttle at either end. Check the local bus or taxi and the cancellation notice before sailing. A different operator's ticket needs its own terminal instructions. Give the mountain its own time
Uludağ needs a separate transport and weather check. Confirm the current cable-car or road arrangement and the final return before leaving the city. If conditions are poor, give the historic districts more time instead of trying to fit the mountain around a short central walk.
Add ferry tickets, mountain travel and thermal facilities separately to the daily spending allowances. Use the actual menus and bookings for your dates; the city's reputation cannot guarantee a meal or bath price.

Choose a room near the Grand Mosque and markets for a central walking visit. Consider Çekirge when the thermal facilities are your reason for staying, and check transport to the historic centre. Confirm which baths or treatments the room price includes.
Getting Around
For a BUDO arrival, read Kabataş and Mudanya on the selected ticket. The ferry reaches the coast, so arrange a separate bus or taxi to Bursa. BUDO does not provide a shuttle at either end. Compare the complete transfer with a coach arrival before choosing accommodation.
Eating for Less
Compare posted menus for İskender kebab and simpler meals around your day's route. Ask about portion sizes, drinks and any extra items before ordering. A famous restaurant's name does not establish a budget price for your visit.
Worth Paying For
A thermal bath can suit a Bursa stay if you want time for it. Ask the facility what admission covers, whether treatments cost extra and which sessions are available. Compare that with a hotel package before paying twice for similar facilities.
