Compare a passenger ferry with a coach using the complete journey. BUDO uses Kabataş and arrives at Mudanya, where you need a separate road transfer to Bursa. Choose the return and check cancellations before committing to a day trip.

Read the current Istanbul pier
BUDO's official travel information places its Istanbul pier at Kabataş Transfer Center, Block D. The former Eminönü/Sirkeci pier closed when services moved on 1 January 2026. Use your ticket's terminal instructions and check the cancellation notice before setting out.
Another operator's sailing needs its own pier check. Compare the journey from your Istanbul address as well as the ticket: reaching a distant departure point can change which option fits your day.
Continue from Mudanya to Bursa
The passenger ferry reaches Mudanya, outside Bursa's historic centre. BUDO does not provide a shuttle, so arrange the local bus or taxi separately. Include waiting and luggage handling in the journey instead of treating the sea crossing as the full trip.
For a coach alternative, check the Istanbul boarding point, Bursa arrival terminal and onward transport to the room. Save both terminal addresses and the booking record. A road alternative is useful when cancelled sailings could disrupt your return.
Choose the return before a day trip
Work backwards from the booked return, allowing for the Bursa-to-Mudanya connection and check-in. A day trip leaves less time for the Grand Mosque and markets than the crossing time suggests. Stay overnight for a thermal visit or a separate mountain day. The Bursa guide helps with those choices.
Avoid a flight immediately after the return ferry. Add the main ticket and transfers at both ends separately to daily spending.
