Belfast is a useful base for maritime history, museums and a carefully planned north-coast outing. Keep the city, its recent history and the Antrim Coast as distinct parts of the visit. The city uses pounds, even if you have arrived from Dublin with euros.

Arrive at Grand Central
The Enterprise train from Dublin Connolly now uses Belfast Grand Central. Aircoach also serves Grand Central. Save Grand Central and the walk to your room before departure.
Belfast International uses airport code BFS; Belfast City uses BHD. They have different local journeys. For BFS, compare the Airport Express 300 and the exact city stop with your accommodation. The Belfast to Dublin route covers the separate cross-border train and coach choices.
Choose one main history visit
Titanic Belfast is a substantial visitor experience, not simply an exterior photograph. Compare the official ticket options and any included ship visit before booking. The surrounding waterfront can also be explored separately.
At City Hall, public guided tours cost £6 for adults aged 18 and over. Children need a valid ticket even though their entry is free. Tickets are available at reception on the day, first come, first served. Allow for the recommended early arrival; a particular room may be unavailable because City Hall remains a working building.
For recent political history, choose a guide who explains the route and approach clearly. Respect residential streets and people living beside murals and peace walls. A photograph does not need to interrupt someone's doorway or daily life.
Make the coast a separate day
The Giant's Causeway is outside Belfast. If using public transport, plan the train towards Coleraine and the onward bus together, including the return. A tour may simplify several coastal stops, but compare time at each place and admission inclusions before paying.
The National Trust's visitor experience, parking and the outdoor landscape have different access arrangements. Use the official Giant's Causeway page for the visit you want rather than assuming one quoted price covers every way of arriving. Keep clear of exposed edges and follow local path advice.
Pounds, documents and the next journey
Northern Ireland is part of the UK and uses pounds sterling. Dublin is in the Republic of Ireland and uses euros. Record costs in the currency charged before converting them for a shared trip budget.
Read the UK entry checker for your nationality and status. A tourist spending a few nights in Ireland does not qualify for the Irish-resident ETA exemption. Keep the appropriate documents with you; an uncomplicated train ride is not proof of permission to enter.

Belfast City Hall Tour
GBP 6.00Booking and rates: Tickets are sold on the day at reception, first come, first served. Tours last about 45–50 minutes; arrive 15 minutes early. The Council Chamber is currently excluded.
Ways to save: Guided tours cost £6 for adults aged 18 and over. Children are free but still need a ticket.

A central base helps with Grand Central and the Cathedral Quarter. Queen's Quarter suits time around the gardens and museum. The Titanic Quarter has a different location across the river, so map your evening and departure journeys.
Getting Around
Enterprise trains use Belfast Grand Central, not Lanyon Place. Use Translink for local bus, Glider and train choices, checking the ticket and stop for the service you need.

Price for your journeyUse Airport Express 300 or its 300a variant from Belfast International, airport code BFS, to Belfast Grand Central Station. Allow roughly 35–60 minutes on the bus, plus waiting; weekday peak journeys can take an hour. Check the current adult single or return quote. Belfast City Airport, BHD, is a different airport with different transport.

Choose a lunch near the day's museum or walk, then compare the full dinner menu. A famous pub name does not tell you whether a session is running or what the evening will cost.
Worth Paying For
Titanic Belfast can be a worthwhile main visit if the shipyard story interests you. Check the chosen ticket and what it includes, leaving time for the experience rather than combining it with a distant excursion.
Skip / Save Your Money
Use the free Ulster Museum and gardens for a city day if you do not want another paid visit. City Hall tours cost £6 for adults, so they should not be listed as a free adult attraction.
Common Tourist Traps & Money Mistakes
Belfast International and Belfast City are different airports. Also keep UK entry permission separate from Irish permission; crossing the land border does not remove document requirements.
