A flight usually leaves more of a short holiday for Rhodes. The ferry can suit travellers who want the sea journey, but it needs a proper overnight plan.

Compare the full flight journey
AEGEAN sells ATH–RHO flights. Allow roughly an hour in the air, then add airport access, boarding time, baggage and the Rhodes transfer. Check the actual flight and the bag allowance before treating a headline fare as the complete price.
Treat the ferry as a long crossing
Blue Star serves Rhodes from Piraeus. Plan for a long sea journey, often overnight; use roughly 15–20 hours as an initial allowance and check the exact sailing because intermediate calls can make it longer. A direct ticket may still involve several port calls without changing ships.
Choose the arrival and comfort you need
For a ferry, check the Rhodes berth and whether the fare covers a seat or cabin. For a flight, RODA provides the airport bus connection to town. Either way, confirm room access and check-in before arrival. The domestic ferry terminal, the Touristiko international terminal and Mandraki are not interchangeable directions.
