Choose between a Piraeus ferry and an ATH–JTR flight using the full travel day. Santorini’s ferry port and airport have different onward transfers.

Compare the ferry by vessel
Blue Star and Seajets include Santorini in their Piraeus networks. A conventional sailing can take much of the day; allow around 7–9 hours as a starting plan. High-speed journeys may be around 5–6 hours, but stops and the particular ship change the result. Use the selected sailing’s duration before booking.
Add the two port journeys
Find the Piraeus gate from the ferry confirmation. Gate E7 or E9 is not a universal instruction for every ship. At Santorini, scheduled ferries arrive at Athinios, below the main settlements. Take the bus towards Fira or a confirmed transfer for your room; the old harbour below Fira is a different place.
Compare the airport alternative
An ATH–JTR flight takes roughly an hour before airport procedures and local transfers. Include baggage when pricing it. A flight already arriving at ATH may make this option convenient, but separately booked tickets need time for delays. Keep the first island afternoon flexible whichever route you choose.
