Take the cable car from Borgo to the upper town. Standard adult single €4, return €7; check seasonal closing and current operation. The ride takes about two minutes; allow extra time for walking and queues. Tickets and times
Use these figures to plan. The price for your departure, luggage and ticket type may differ.

Take the cable car between the two centres

Walk to the lower station at Piazzale Campo della Fiera in Borgo Maggiore. The cable car reaches the upper historic centre near the panoramic Cantone area. Use AASS's service page for today's operation and seasonal closing time.

The tourism office describes a ride of less than two minutes. This is a short local connection, with a steep change of level. The straight-line map distance between the guide anchors is not the cable's measured length. Add the approach, queue and walk from the upper station to the time in the cabin.

Buy the correct ticket

A standard adult single is €4; the return is €7. Reductions have their own conditions. The domestic free-bus trial does not make the cable car free. Check the current tariff before paying.

If the service is suspended, use a confirmed road connection rather than assuming the steep walk will suit your group. The separate Bonelli bus publishes a €2 Borgo–San Marino fare on its scheduled route; check its stops and next departure. Keep a return arrangement before booking dinner in the upper town.

Use the historic-centre guide to choose a tower or museum, or the two-day plan for a visit with one night in Borgo.
