Siófok is one destination
Direct trains from Budapest-Déli or Kelenföld make Siófok a useful south-shore arrival. Allow roughly 1½ hours as a starting plan. Balatonfüred follows the north-shore route and normally takes longer.
Include the required seat
InterCity and regional services have different reservation rules. Add any required seat reservation to the total, especially in summer. The late-summer timetable runs through 20 September 2026 before the next seasonal change; plan an autumn trip using its actual date.
Check the final walk
Look at the distance between the station, room and beach. Tihany village, Tihany ferry landing and Balatonfüred are separate places. After arrival, choose the promenade and a meal instead of a tightly timed boat crossing.
