The Airport Transit Trap: 100E vs 200E
- Bus 100E (Airport Express): Direct non-stop shuttle from Budapest Airport to Deák Ferenc tér in the city center (35 minutes). Requires a dedicated special airport ticket costing 2,200 HUF (~€5.60); standard transit passes are not valid.
- Bus 200E + Metro Line M3 (The Budget Hack): Take regular city bus 200E to the Kőbánya-Kispest terminal station and transfer to Metro Line M3 directly into the center. Uses standard transit tickets (450 HUF / ~€1.15) and is 100% covered by 24-hour and 72-hour transit passes.
