Choosing your journey

A suitable direct train makes Córdoba a straightforward next stop after Granada. Allow roughly 1½–2 hours on the train, then time to reach the historic centre.

Compare the booked train

Use Renfe for the current Granada–Córdoba departures. Avant and other services can have different fares and conditions. The rail network is not a guarantee that any departure connects neatly with a separate onward ticket.

Stay in Córdoba or stop for the day

If continuing to Seville or Madrid, check a real luggage-storage option before turning Córdoba into a stopover. A suitcase makes the narrow lanes and indoor visits awkward. Staying overnight gives you more time for the riverfront and an unhurried morning visit.

Allow for the walk from the station

The railway station is outside the Mosque-Cathedral quarter. Leave a margin before a timed visit and avoid using an old advertised starting fare as your trip budget. Keep the main journey ticket separate from the city’s daily spending example.

Plan the arrival

The Granada guide and Córdoba guide explain the local journeys, places to stay and visits. Add the main travel ticket separately to your daily spending plan. The distance above is a straight-line comparison between the city centres; your train, road or flight route can be longer.

Check the direction before using an itinerary link

This guide describes Granada to Córdoba. The ten-day Andalusia itinerary uses the reverse journey on day six, after two Córdoba nights. Search Córdoba to Granada in the dated Renfe planner, keeping the departure station, travel date and arrival address together in your notes.

Travelling north instead can fit a trip that finishes in Córdoba or continues towards Madrid. A same-day onward train needs its own ticket and a realistic connection; a stop of several hours also needs bag storage. Compare that with an overnight in the Córdoba guide, especially if you want more than a quick monument visit.
