Start with the Alhambra ticket

If the Nasrid Palaces are a priority, look for your ticket before fixing every other part of the stay. Alhambra General is listed at €22.27 and includes those palaces, the Partal, Alcazaba and Generalife.

The cheaper gardens product leaves out the Nasrid Palaces. Neither the broad opening hours nor a ticket to another part of the complex gives you access to the palaces at any time. Your palace entry has its own slot.

Allow for the approach and the walk inside

The monument stands above the city. The official access guidance lists C30 from the centre and C32 between the Alhambra and Albaicín. Walking is another option, but it includes an uphill approach.

Reaching the main entrance is not the same as reaching the Nasrid Palaces. Use the site map, bring your original identity document and leave enough time for entry checks and the walk within the grounds. Keep lunch and onward travel clear of the visit so you can enjoy the gardens afterwards.

Choose an address you can reach comfortably

The lower centre is a practical choice if you want easy meals, bus access and less effort with luggage. An Albaicín room may have steps or a longer final walk even when the map makes it look close. Ask the host how you will reach the door from a taxi or bus stop.

For a short visit, convenience can matter more than a view from the room. Save some energy for walking through the neighbourhood itself.

Give the Albaicín a separate stretch of time

Choose a cooler part of the day for its lanes and viewpoints. Walk without assuming that every turn will be level or suitable for wheeled luggage. Pause along the way, and use a bus for one direction if that makes the outing more comfortable.

A viewpoint can be busy, especially near sunset. Arrive because you want to spend time there, not because the trip depends on an empty photograph. The walk and the changing views are part of the visit.

Eat according to your appetite

Granada's tapa-with-a-drink tradition can make an enjoyable stop, but it is not a fixed dining system. Ask how the particular bar works and whether you choose the tapa. You can also order a larger plate or sit down for a meal without needing to earn it through several drinks.

Decide whether Granada can be your last stop

A single Granada night leaves little flexibility if your main visit falls on departure day. In the seven-day Madrid and Andalusia plan, check the Nasrid Palaces time, the rest of the Alhambra visit, bag collection and onward travel together. Add a night if they do not fit; a gardens ticket is not a substitute when the palaces are the reason you came.

The ten-day Andalusia plan gives Granada two nights and puts the Alhambra on the full day between journeys. Arriving from Seville or Madrid still means a separate local trip from the railway or coach station. Save the address and check-in arrangements before choosing the arrival.
