Compare the main journey
A suitable CP train from Lisbon takes roughly 1½–2¼ hours to Coimbra-B depending on service and departure station. Compare the reservation and change conditions before fixing a library entry. A coach can take roughly 2–3 hours, with its own terminal and traffic allowance.
Plan beyond Coimbra-B
Current CP Coimbra information directs the central connection to Metro Mondego buses. Find the current boarding point and ticket; do not expect a free shuttle train to Coimbra-A. The upper university district is another uphill approach after reaching the centre.
Give the stop enough time
For an overnight visit, drop your bag before sightseeing and keep the library appointment clear of arrival uncertainty. For a same-day stop, confirm luggage storage and leave time to reach your onward station. The €16.50 university product with the library has different access from the €12.50 version without it.
