Choose the mainline departure
CP lists Alfa Pendular and Intercidades journeys from Lisbon towards Faro. Allow roughly 3–4 hours for the train, depending on service and Lisbon station. Reserve the departure you can comfortably reach rather than relying on a promotional fare from an old article.
Compare the coach stop
A suitable coach can take roughly 3½–4½ hours, with traffic and departure affecting the total. Use the operator booking for the exact Lisbon terminal and Faro arrival. A service to Faro city is not necessarily the same as an airport or resort service.
Plan the Algarve destination
If your room is in Faro, the city station and terminal make a practical start. If it is in Lagos, compare the full Lisbon–Lagos connection via Tunes instead of travelling to Faro just to reverse direction. The airport has no railway station and requires another transfer.
