Book the station-to-station journey
Start with Renfe’s route and compare available iryo and OUIGO departures. Look at the final arrival time as well as the fare. Different stops and products can change the duration.
Choose a fare you can use
Check luggage and change rules before buying. A cheap fixed ticket is useful when you can commit to the departure, but less useful after a flight with little connection time. There is no reliable rule that booking exactly two or three weeks ahead produces the lowest fare.
Continue from Santa Justa
Santa Justa is the railway station; Plaza de Armas is a different coach station. Work out the walk, bus or taxi to your accommodation and ask about check-in. A palace booking immediately after arrival leaves little room for a late train or a longer-than-expected walk.
Plan the arrival
The Madrid guide and Seville guide explain the local journeys, places to stay and visits. Add the main travel ticket separately to your daily spending plan. The distance above is a straight-line comparison between the city centres; your train, road or flight route can be longer.
Direct to Seville or an overnight in Córdoba?
Choose the direct trip if settling into one Seville room matters more than another stop. If you want a Córdoba evening, the seven-day Madrid and Andalusia plan uses Madrid–Córdoba first, then a separate Córdoba–Seville journey the next day. Price both legs before comparing that plan with the direct fare.
For a Seville arrival during a major celebration, check the spring planning guide before choosing a room in the centre. An attractive train arrival time does not settle the final approach to an address affected by an event.
