Use one complete connection search
Start at Oslo S on a Bergen-line train and change at Myrdal for Flåm. The main line does not descend to the village. Vy gives a total of around six to eight hours, depending on the departure and transfer. The Flåm Railway section takes about an hour; the longer part is reaching Myrdal from Oslo.
Search Oslo–Flåm for your actual date and check both train numbers. Leave time to move your bags at the change, and read any service notices before travel. Buying two independently chosen departures can leave you with a connection the planner would not recommend.
Decide where you will sleep before adding an activity
An overnight stop lets the journey be the main event of the day. Choose a room in Flåm if you want to walk from the station; accommodation around Aurland or farther along the fjord may need a bus or taxi. Check the complete address and final transfer before paying.
Keep a cruise on the following day when you can. The Nærøyfjord cruise reaches Gudvangen, with a separate return arrangement to Flåm. That is easier to enjoy when it does not depend on an exact long-distance train arrival. The railway museum is a smaller option near the village when you have an unbooked hour.
Book onward travel deliberately
For Bergen, take the branch line back up to Myrdal and continue west on the main line. Check the Flåm–Bergen connection before choosing a departure-day cruise. For a return to Oslo, search that direction separately rather than assuming the outward timetable repeats.
Fares depend on the trains and conditions. Confirm whether both railway sections are included in the total, and keep the hotel, cruise and local transfer costs separate. A package may combine them, but only the inclusions listed for that booking count.
