Choosing your journey
A suitable high-speed or Avant train takes roughly 45–60 minutes between Santa Justa and Córdoba. It works as a day trip or an easy change of overnight base.

Book the train and visit in that order
Use the current Renfe planner and compare other operators offered on your date. Tickets are for the booked service; a different train is not automatically included. Córdoba’s station is outside the historic lanes, so leave time to reach the Mosque-Cathedral.
Decide whether to stay the night
For a day trip, carry only what you need and choose a return that leaves space for lunch and a walk by the river. An overnight stay gives you the quieter morning and evening without rushing back to Seville. Do not book a room in both cities by mistake.
Match the entry product
The Mosque-Cathedral, bell tower and night visit have separate ticket conditions. The early free individual visit has a limited schedule and exceptions. Use the official visitor page before arranging the train around that window.
Plan the arrival
The Seville guide and Córdoba guide explain the local journeys, places to stay and visits. Add the main travel ticket separately to your daily spending plan. The distance above is a straight-line comparison between the city centres; your train, road or flight route can be longer.
A return outing and a one-way trip need different bookings
For a day out, keep the Seville room and choose both train departures before committing to a monument time. In the ten-day Andalusia plan, day four is instead a move to Córdoba for two nights, with Granada next. There is no return to Seville in that sequence.
The seven-day Madrid route uses these cities in the opposite order. If following that version, search Córdoba to Seville for day four; do not buy the outward direction described by this page. The Córdoba guide helps choose between a brief visit and the overnight stop.
