Choose the departure, not just the lowest fare
The road journey is about 170 km, with coaches generally taking two to three hours and some stopping services longer. Read the arrival time before planning lunch or a boat in Zadar. Arriva coach choices.

The main coach station is close to the railway station and ferries. Leave time to collect any stored luggage and find the platform. Check whether your suitcase is included in the ticket or paid for separately.
If you are arriving from an island first, a later coach gives you room for ferry delays and a meal. Booking the closest possible connection can save an hour on paper and cause much more trouble on the day.
Add the last part into Zadar
Coaches arrive at the main bus station, not the old-town peninsula or Gaženica ferry port. Choose a city bus, walk or taxi that fits your accommodation and bags. Do not assume an onward ferry departs where the coach stops.
