Set aside a travel half-day

Choose the central station
Some searches also show journeys starting at Vilnius Airport with a connection. If you are staying in the city, choose Vilnius railway station unless you have a reason to start elsewhere. Read the departure and arrival station on the ticket before comparing two apparently different journey times.
Leave room at the coast end
Klaipėda railway station is on Priestočio Street, beside the bus-station area. Allow time to reach your room before going to the harbour. For Nida, you still need an onward journey: either a suitable through-coach or the Old Ferry to Smiltynė followed by a bus. Those are not included automatically in your train ticket.
Choose a seat and budget for the day
Compare the class and final fare offered for your departure. If taking bikes, check space and booking conditions before committing to the hotel. Carry water and food you are happy to eat on a longer journey, or inspect the onboard offer for your train. Keep this intercity ticket separate from the daily local-transport allowance.
