Athens Airport to central Athens or Piraeus
Use the airport metro for a useful station, a 24-hour express bus for the right stop, and extra time for your ferry gate.
Open your accommodation address or ferry ticket before choosing transport from Athens Airport. Syntagma, Piraeus and Kifisos coach terminal are different destinations. The cheapest bus is only helpful if it takes you where you need to go.

These prices come from OASA's visitor information. They are airport products. The ordinary €1.20 urban ticket and standard city day pass do not cover the full airport journey.
For a room in central Athens
Line 3 is useful for an address near Syntagma, Monastiraki or another station along the line. Airport departures are spaced about 36 minutes apart, so include the wait when comparing it with a bus. A ride to Syntagma is roughly 40 minutes, followed by the walk to your room.
Look at the last airport train if you land late. A train on the city section of Line 3 is not necessarily an airport service in the opposite direction. Follow the airport destination shown when travelling back.
The X95 runs between the airport and Syntagma, with a road journey of around an hour in OASA's planning information. Traffic can make it longer. Its 24-hour service is useful outside metro operating hours, especially for an address that is easy to reach from the square.
The airport bus has its own ticket conditions. Do not assume its fare also covers the next city bus or metro ride. Follow validation instructions and keep the ticket until the journey is finished.
For a ferry from Piraeus
First confirm that the ferry really leaves from Piraeus. A Rafina booking needs a different transfer. Find the ship and gate on the confirmation, then use the ferry operator's port map.
Line 3 reaches Piraeus, while X96 links the airport with the port area by road. OASA gives about 90 minutes for X96, before unusual traffic or the wait. Neither option guarantees that you step off beside your ship. The gate may need a further walk or port transfer with luggage.
Add the boarding deadline to your calculation. If the ferry asks you to arrive before departure, your connection must get you to the boarding area by that earlier time. Flight delays, baggage collection and finding the right stop all need room.

For an onward mainland coach
Use the coach operator's departure point. Athens has more than one intercity terminal, and some services leave elsewhere. X93 serves the Kifisos and Liosion terminal areas; X95 goes to Syntagma instead. OASA's airport bus page gives the route information.
Keep the coach booking, terminal name and room address saved on your phone. If travelling with heavy bags or limited mobility, check the last walk and station access too. A slightly higher transport cost can be worthwhile if it removes an awkward change.
