Georgia or Armenia for your first visit
Choose a manageable route through Georgia or Armenia based on scenery, city time, transport and the season, rather than a blanket price comparison.
For a first week in the region, choose one country unless there is a particular reason to visit both. Changing countries uses time on the road, adds border arrangements and can leave too little room for the places that attracted you in the first place.
Georgia is a useful choice for combining Tbilisi with a mountain stay or a wine-region visit. Armenia works well for a Yerevan base with monastery excursions and time around Lake Sevan or Dilijan. Neither itinerary needs a claim that one country is more welcoming or universally cheaper.
Two routes to consider
A seven-night Georgia outline could use four nights in Tbilisi and three in Stepantsminda. That gives you time in the city, a transfer day and some flexibility around mountain weather. The national tourism information-centre directory includes local offices that can help with conditions and routes.
For Armenia, consider four nights in Yerevan followed by three around Dilijan, with a Lake Sevan stop arranged as part of the transfer if the timing works. Alternatively, keep all seven nights in Yerevan and choose a small number of excursions. Armenia's lake guide explains Sevan's high-altitude setting. A warm day in the capital does not guarantee warm swimming conditions there.
These are suggested structures, not pre-booked tours. Match the arrival and departure airports before committing to accommodation.
Compare transport in the budget
A city stay with public transport and walks has a different cost from a route relying on private transfers. For every move, record the price per person or per vehicle, luggage allowance, final drop-off and return arrangements. A shared room also changes the cost substantially compared with a solo traveller paying for the same room.

Check the route, not just the country name

Choose the route with enough time for the activities you want. Leaving one unscheduled day can be more useful than adding another distant stop to an already full week.
